Controlling the Power of Life and Death with Your Mouth

Two CANNOT walk together unless they are in agreement (Amos 3:3). You cannot have a united front with one person speaking life and the other speaking death. The Bible also warns against those who do harmful things then say it was only a joke. Our tongues control the power of life and death. That’s scriptural. Man’s ignorance of the Word is no excuse for failures in life. How can anyone expect God to bless something that they themselves keep cursing? There is no such thing as jesting in the Spirit. The Bible says God is not mocked and whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

There may be those in your sphere who often err on the side of ignorance even after knowing the command of the Lord, be in prayer for them, but do not align yourself with them for they are in darkness and they have received the spirit of rebellion for they refuse to control their tongue and when the door of destruction opens they cry foul, accuse God of ignoring them in their most desperate need and make an excuse for their poor choices. We have in life what we choose in life, it is NEVER God’s fault we have trouble. Jesus said He came to deliver us from trouble.

Each and every one of us has the power to control our own destiny by the decisions we make with our time, our talents and our mouths. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and we all need to be reminded sometimes to control what we say, what we think, and what we do. Thankfully, we have an advocate in Jesus and we can simply turn course after we acknowledge we spoke death by mistake instead of speaking life. The Bible says choose life, so just do it, choose to bless with your life and stop the curse of the mouth; nothing good can come from open rebellion against the Word of God.

Remove Shabby Debris from Your Soul and Manifest Power

The soul is made up of many layers and each layer contains deposits that come from everything we see and hear. No matter the purity or the debauchery of the content we take in, all of it will find its way onto a layer of our soul. With so many images and sounds mucking up our eye gates and ear gates, it’s easy to be overcome by a little darkness if we aren’t regularly addressing these layers of the soul in prayer. Regarding the issue of immorality, for example, the Apostle Paul said, “Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed, Christ our Passover, was sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:6-7).

Simply put, one overlooked deposit on a layer of the soul can become a springboard for much larger issues if we don’t immediately address an area in the soul that may be dark.

The layers of our souls can become cluttered with debris—those things we place on our souls through the materials we watch and read, or even the things we hear and speak. Images and words have power and our words will determine whether we walk in the power of God’s light or if we will walk according to the spirits that govern darkness. We all have the gift of choice; one choice may lead to life everlasting with abundant blessings; while another may lead to death; either way, we make the choice to follow God or to follow Satan.

The Bible says the power of life and death are in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21) and it also says that believer’s in Jesus have the choice to embrace life or to embrace death (Deuteronomy 30:19). We determine the fruit that will be produced in our lives based upon the things we speak into the atmosphere. We also determine the fruit that will be produced in our lives when we make a conscious effort to read and listen to messaging that can either edify or damage our soul. It is up to us to choose those things that edify our souls and bring God glory. It is also up to us to foster an environment that produces the conditions necessary for improving our circumstances and manifesting our destiny.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God; this is true, but the Bible also directs us to see the Word of God with our eyes:

Proverbs 4:20-23

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart; for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Therefore, not only are we held accountable for what we hear, but also what we see. Additionally, not only should we be hearing the Word and seeing the Word, but we should be allowing Holy Spirit to strip away deposits formed on the layers of our souls from poor choices we make like watching, listening to, or consuming materials that do not edify the Spirit of God within us. Now, that isn’t to say we shouldn’t be well-rounded people with special skills, talents, abilities and hobbies; after all, God made us in His image (Genesis 1:27) and He placed those skills and talents within us for His own good pleasure. If someone is called to be a carpenter for example, they wouldn’t forego reading manuals or watching videos on how to become an expert in their craft. Excellence in one’s profession or hobby only serves to enhance one’s God-given abilities. Equally, if another enjoys fly fishing, they certainly wouldn’t be penalized by Holy Spirit for reading up on how to improve their fly fishing technique or how to master special fly fishing knots. God is actually a God who likes to have fun and He wants His children to enjoy life; but if we’re professing to love Jesus Christ, then we must make the choice to avoid reading certain materials or viewing certain images we know will grieve the Holy Spirit of God. At the close of every day, each one of us should be able to say with confidence before the Father that our lifestyle choices actually added value to the kingdom of God and brought Him some glory.

What fellowship does light have with darkness and what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness (2 Corinthians 6:14)?

Do Christian’s really need to be educated about the damage caused to the soul when they consume materials laden with witchcraft, or watch incredibly violent movies, or listen to extremely dark music? In the same regard, do believers really need to be told that it’s wrong to read books that contain spells or demonstrate storylines that magnify the devil or indulge in content that promotes illicit sex and adultery?

What we take in through our eye gates and our ear gates matters; and if we’re taking in garbage, then garbage is what will be produced in our souls, and garbage is what we will manifest when the time comes to move in faith.

There are a lot of voices in Christianity right now who are preaching kingdom authority and manifesting for God, but they are not speaking to “lifestyle”. The glory of God cannot be improperly handled by half-baked Christian’s who treat the sovereignty of God like it’s a toy they can draw from a toy box at will. Handling the glory comes with a cost; and the child of God interested in moving in the higher realms of authority must live a crucified life. That means no more consuming a diet of junk that weakens faith and produces spiritual lack. Sweet and bitter water cannot come forth from the same fountain and darkness and light cannot come forth from the same spirit, so it is incumbent upon us to make choices that edify our souls and choices that produce kingdom results. The glory of God can only be manifested through a sanctified vessel. We cannot live like the children of the devil and expect to handle the power of God.

In Luke 11:33-36, Jesus told the disciples that if the eye is dark then the entire body will be dark:

“No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lamp stand, that those who come in may see the light. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore, take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.”

Thankfully, we have the blood of Jesus to cover us when we miss it. We also have the Word of God to show us how to remove darkness from our souls if we consume things that are not God’s best for us.

Jesus said, “So I say to you, ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you; for everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him” (Luke 11:9-13).

We can simply repent for any error on our part and be restored to fellowship again with God.

Matthew reads: “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 18:18).

If we have indulged in something that is unhealthy for our soul we can clear it away with prayer. Any shabby debris left behind by bad choices can be loosed from our soul and we can bind them to the dry places to never return (Luke 11:24). We do this by speaking to the darkness and commanding it to go. Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee (James 4:7).

2019 needs to be a year of consecration for many—a stripping away of those things that clearly grieve the Holy Spirit of God and produce death in our souls. The times and seasons of God demand we lay ourselves open and bare before Him so He can remove what is keeping us in bondage to carnal living and fill us with those things that bring Him glory—like the Word, the Spirit, and our commitment to His kingdom agenda. Once we make the determination to be a vessel of honor for His plans and purposes, nothing will be impossible for us to accomplish in this earth, nothing; but we have to be free from the demonic clutter that comes from participating with evil and we have to say no to anything that keeps us in bondage to carnal living.

Say no to mindless junk. Verbally loose the garbage from your soul by repenting and commanding all that shabby debris on your soul to flee seven ways to the dry places, then don’t consume anymore junk. Keep your eye gates and your ear gates clean with the Word of God and prayer and if you do have a misstep and inadvertently consume something through your gates you know grieves Holy Spirit then just repent and keep it moving. There is absolutely nothing too difficult for God and He will honor us if we’re honoring Him. The earth is crying out for the sons and daughters of God to manifest for the kingdom and establish regions of light for the goodness of God (Romans 8:19), so be willing to be the one in your generation who establishes His will in the earth just as the scripture proclaims in Matthew 6:10.

It begins today. It begins with us. Come to a higher purpose in God beloved, and taste and see that the Lord is good.

You Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

And He gave gifts to men (Ephesians 4:8).

Christmas is right around the corner and many of us are busy with shopping, making goodies, and buying gifts for friends and loved ones; and while we place our focus on the nice things we will be doing for others, why not take a minute to reflect on the things God has given to us individually? Certainly, the greatest of all gifts is Jesus, but God didn’t stop there; He has equipped each and every one of us with special traits and abilities not found in another human being, making each and every one of us fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Those gifts and abilities are not only within us for His divine will and purposes, but they are there to bring Him glory. He has called us to manifest His power and to walk in the fullness of His blessing. So, ask yourself, what has He placed inside of you that not only makes you fearfully and wonderfully made, but brings Him glory you can manifest for the world?

Are you an amazing parent? Are you a talented artist? Do you give the best advice? Are you a powerful prayer warrior? Do you encourage the hurting? Do you lend a hand to the less fortunate? Maybe you have the gift of dance, or you write anointed novels? Maybe your gift is faithfulness? Maybe you’re the one person in your sphere of influence everyone can count on to be available for a hug, or a listening ear, or a phone call during a crisis? Maybe you’re a dedicated employee who works for your employer as unto the Lord, or perhaps you make the most amazing pastries and pies? Maybe you’re a devoted public servant or you’re a fantastic motivational speaker?

The point is, God has given each one of us special talents and abilities and they matter to the world around us. Think about the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life”.
If you have seen the movie then you know that George Bailey was convinced that he had no real purpose in life and he had nothing substantial to offer the world or the people around him. He was so convinced his life was useless he said he wished he had never been born and guess what? God allowed George to see the world around him without him in it, and it was a grave and depressing place without George. George couldn’t realize while he was alive how much impact his gifts and his kindness towards others had on the world around him. It wasn’t until he saw how dark life was for the people he deeply loved that he realized just how grim the world would be without him in it. It’s a powerful story of grace and redemption that really brings home just how valuable each and every one of us are to the plans of God and to the world we live in. If you haven’t watched the movie, place it on your watch list for this holiday season. You will definitely be encouraged.

So as we come to the close of this year and we begin to think about the next, what gifts has God given to you to manifest His glory and to be a light to those around you? And how are you going to use those gifts to be His representative in the earth for 2019? Please take a moment to comment below and thank you for your participation. We appreciate you and we are praying for you to be exactly who He made you to be. You are amazing and we love you!

You Can Do the Works of God

Sometimes we humans can really complicate matters of faith. In the gospel of John, Jesus gives the people a very simple and direct answer when they ask Him how they too can “do” the works of God. Jesus had just fed the 5,000 on a few fishes and some bread; a feat any common man would like to achieve! Imagine not having to toil by the sweat of your brow to produce enough food to feed thousands? But Jesus corrected the people by essentially saying, don’t seek after the bread that perishes, fulfilling you temporarily; but seek after Me, because truthfully, I am the bread of life and if you will believe in Me, you can do the works you see here and more:

John 6:28-29 Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”

It’s such a simple thing to believe in the power of Jesus and apply it to our own situations, yet we human beings like to muck everything up with long lists of requirements that we need to achieve before we can have what we will; but Jesus never said we would have to meet long lists of requirements to receive from Him. On the contrary, He rebuked the religious leaders of His day for placing those kinds of burdens on the people they were supposed to be serving. The message of Jesus was and still is quite simple; believe in Him and have what you will, even the ability to turn a few fish into a meal for thousands; but He inserts a caveat: never forget while we may carry that kind of power–that kind of faith–that ‘belief in Him’ has to be more important to us than those things we produce when we ‘do’ the works of God.

God Never Releases a Warning Without an Accompanying Winning Strategy

Demonic activity has been on the uptick; partially from the approaching satanic High Holy Day, but also from demon-possessed individuals Satan is currently occupying in an effort to increase disorder in the land.

There are voices in the body of Christ who are reasoning the times and seasons of God from their soul realm and not from the realm of God’s Holy Spirit. The Lord says that some people are falling for the propaganda being administered by the enemy in hopes that the people of God will ascribe to the “spirit of fear”. We do not have the spirit of fear beloved, but we have the Holy Spirit of God, alive and working within us to expose and defeat the wicked plans of the evil one. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind. Do not fall for the false testimony of the enemy in this hour; the body of Christ is actually being positioned for ruler-ship and the devil knows it.

The Word of God tells us that we will always have the poor among us and the same can be said for those who walk in darkness. There will always be sects of people who are seeking our destruction as the god of this world is feverishly working to destroy the plans of God in these last days; but thankfully, we have a great High Priest who will not allow us to suffer. He is teaching us through His Word that we will indeed be priests and kings unto our God in THIS world, in this time and in this hour. The body of Christ is actually being positioned to manifest the glory of God in this hour and while there will be pockets of trouble in certain places or uprisings in others, these demonic outbursts will not hinder the plans and purposes of God.

When darkness is exposed we are not to run into our perspective caves and hide from the enemy; on the contrary, we are to assemble ourselves for war. We are indeed in a battle for the souls of man and for the manifestation of the ready-made Bride of Christ, whom the Lord will call to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb when He says it is finished. This is certainly not the time to fall for the propaganda of the demonic and to surrender to a lie. When the rumblings of the devil are revealed, it is our responsibility to subdue the darkness and overtake the demonic with the Word of God, and the sword of the Spirit and the power of the Holy One in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not a time to yell, “Alas! The sky is falling!”

We currently have some voices in the body who are sharing visions they have received in the night and visions they have seen in meditation with God and although the visions are revealing “trouble” on the horizon, these same people are failing to understand the authority of the Church over the demonic and they are correcting the body from a place of fear instead of a place of power.

Are we still so immature we haven’t yet discerned that when the Lord reveals something to us in the spirit realm that marks us for battle, that He has also assigned a strategy for us to win? God never releases a battle plan without an accompanying winning strategy. Perhaps these well-meaning ministers of the gospel should be asking God for the battle plans of the enemy instead of running to the internet to warn the Church of impending doom? Saints, the warnings we are receiving from the War Room of Heaven are meant for our battle against the demonic. They are not meant for us to use as a means of scolding the Church or inciting doom.

We have already been judged. The judgment of the world fell upon the body of the Lord Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago and for those who have received His free gift of Love, we are no longer under the curse of death. We have passed over into life. We are no longer slaves to the spirit of death, but we are children of Light. We are His offspring, made in His image, in power, in His glory and through the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are the HEAD and not the tail! Therefore, when dreams in the night seasons come with warnings, it is our responsibility to seek the strategies of the Lord and REBUKE the demonic. It is incumbent upon us to use our authority in the spirit to place the devil on notice and to declare to the demonic that we will not be fodder for the enemy and we not allow the devil to interrupt the divine purposes of God for His Church on this earth.

It is we dear brothers and sisters, who are the extension of God the Father in the earth and it is we who have the authority and power over ALL the power of the enemy in the Name of Jesus Christ to manifest life, liberty and dominion. We are supposed to be subduing the enemy, not aggrandizing his demonic schemes to attack the earth with violence and fear. When we receive a dream, a word or a vision from the Father that comes with a warning, our first reaction should be to declare and decree that no weapon formed against us shall prosper; and secondly, we should make every effort to speak to the darkness and tell it in no uncertain terms that we will not tolerate the plans of the enemy. He is a trespasser, a liar, a counterfeit, a thief, a destroyer and a crook and he is destined for eternal hell; whereas we are salt and light and power and honor and kings and priests; and we will reign over the earth in the mighty Name of Jesus according to the Holy Spirit of God, who is alive and moving in each and every one of us who name the Name of Jesus as Savior and Mighty Deliverer.

We worship the King who is over all kings and the Lord who is over all lords and we KNOW that we win; and thus, we have nothing to fear. So, going forward, let us position ourselves for battle and attack the demonic and subdue the devil in faith, in love for the blessed Church, and in power for the sake of the gospel of the Kingdom. As His chosen people, we are the ones whom God has ordained in this time and in this hour to manifest His glory in the earth; so put away the propaganda of the enemy and act like kings and priests of the Lord and subdue the darkness. Our God holds the battle plans for victory; ask for them and use them in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ to defeat the devil. Amen.

You Have an Obligation to Fulfill Your Story

Do you know you have a Book in Heaven? Do you know you have an obligation to fulfill your story?

There are people who have been to Heaven and they have seen the “Books”. Yes, there is a Lamb’s Book of Life as mentioned in the Book of the Revelation, but do you know that each one of us has another “Book” that is all our own in Heaven; and inside the pages of that personal Book is our own personal story created with God.

Something not taught in most churches is our true heritage—our heavenly one—where we came from before He attached our little spirits to our mother’s egg at conception. Yes, our spirits are attached to the egg in our mother’s bodies at conception when the sperm enters the egg. Science has proven that at this exact moment, a blast of light occurs inside the body of a woman when the sperm and the egg meet. The Bible also speaks of God’s knowing us before the foundation of the world. He said: “Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 and Ephesians 1:4) And since God is no respecter of person’s, we know He knew us all before we entered the belly of our own mothers.

Clearly this implies we had a relationship with God before the foundation of the world. We are spiritual beings and spirits do not die, nor are they extinguished. Spirit beings are eternal, so it’s not a stretch to conceive the idea that we were actually with Him in the beginning before the creation of time. “Time” was created for our earthly purposes here; time is not a factor in Heaven as reported by those who have been to Heaven and even by the science of quantum physics. So, if He had communion (communication) with us prior to our physical birth here on the earth, then that communication must have occurred in Heaven. So, that brings us to the book’s that witnesses have seen in Heaven that contain the records of all that we have been doing while living life here on earth.

This ministry hasn’t heard much teaching on the Book’s from anyone in the body of Christ, but we have spent time asking Holy Spirit for more insight on what is contained in those Book’s and how we can partner with Him to walk out what is in our individual book to the glory of God. Wouldn’t you like to know how to be on the same page with God in your Book?

The first way to partner with your own story is to understand two things:
(1) You were chosen by God to come here and live The Story; the story of Jesus Christ. Each one of us is called to be the Light of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. That’s number one; and number (2), each of us has been commanded to walk in the finished works of Christ; and that essentially means we are to rest on what He has already accomplished through his life, his death, his burial and his resurrection. When we understand how to walk in the finished works of Jesus, writing our story takes on new meaning and we’re more apt to seek God’s purposes for our lives over our own; after all, when God opens our Book, don’t we want it to be a good read?

This is the part where many stumble as they have not been conditioned or taught what it means to walk in the finished works of Christ. Most of us have been taught to scrape, scrimp, fight, battle, and rage against the forces of darkness so we can sustain a life we’re barely living now just to enter Heaven by the skin of our teeth. This isn’t resting in the finished works of God.

The Bible says that the Sabbath was made for man, it’s not the reverse. God made the heavens and the earth and all its glory for the sons and daughters of God to ENJOY. Now, this doesn’t mean that we won’t have trials and tribulation; we will. The devil is still here and his mission is to destroy us, but the devil’s desire to destroy us is not supposed to usurp our destiny in God. We have a Great Savior who has made the way for us to live in the blessings of God. The earth was a gift to the sons of man and the gifts of God are without repentance. God has not negated His original intent for earth just because the devil is on the loose and an uneducated body of Christ is trying to hold on to the promises of God for dear life. On the contrary, these trials and tribulations are actually an incentive for God to show up and show out for us if we will only trust Him. These trials are part of our Book.

The Bible reminds us in one place (though there are other places too), that God watches over his words to perform them. In Isaiah 62:6-9 (NASB) it says:
6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, 7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. 8 The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured: 9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.

God expects us to put Him on notice about those things He has promised to His beloved. And we fail to do this because we’re not taught to do this.

The Word says that His people suffer for a lack of knowledge; so if our basic rights to the “blessing” as sons and daughters isn’t even being taught, then it’s safe to say that the teaching on the finished works of Christ isn’t being taught either and this has left the Church at a terrible disadvantage.

For the purpose of this writing, we’re not going to delve into identity and son-ship, because each one of us is expected to begin this quest for knowledge individually, with the help of Holy Spirit and through the study of our Bibles. Additionally, we have plenty of articles at What You Will™ to help get you started on your own personal study of God’s Word about your rights as His chosen; but we are going to touch on walking in the finished works so you can partner with God through YOUR own special story found in your own personal Book.

The finished works are the things Jesus did for us on his way to the cross, at the death and resurrection of the cross, and even nowHis life beyond the cross. Prior to the cross were the finished works of devout character, faith, belief, prosperity, healing, salvation, life and stewardship as followers of Him combined with all the instructions and examples Jesus provided to the disciples to help them to become like Him on the earth. At the cross were the finished works of redemption and the nullifying of sin and death and the putting down of the devil’s right to illegally harass the Church and hold her in bondage to darkness. Beyond the cross are the works of the Holy Spirit of Promise, the manifestations of the greater works, (greater works than these shall you do because I go to My Father) and the dispensation of grace that we enjoy now. And even more so, is the abundance of revelation that continues to touch the Body of Christ as Holy Spirit extrapolates more information from the Father as it pertains to the study of the Scriptures. Now obviously, this is not an exhaustive list of the amazing things Jesus accomplished for us through the works of the cross; but it does give us a general idea of some of the things He accomplished to give you and me life and life more abundantly.

As His Bride—His Body, we are the most essential part of these finished works; because our works are not yet finished. As long as we are alive and on this earth, our Book is still being written and even though we sat with the Father before the ‘world that was’ and talked about what should go into our Book, we still have a say so in how the story unfolds here and now on the earth. A-ha! The caveat to the story! Our individual self-will; but we digress.

Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to fulfill our story with the help of Jesus by walking in the finished works? Isn’t it clear to see that if we partner with Him it will be so much easier to stay in-step with the plans of God for our lives especially when attacks from the enemy come? The blessings can only come through obedience right? So it seems reasonable to assume that our story will be more manageable if we get onto the same page with God.

For example, if you’re being persecuted by someone on the job and that persecution has made it difficult for you to perform your duties and it has also made it difficult for you to keep a positive attitude, then you need to know how to walk in the finished works of Christ. What does He promise you? A future and a hope; recompense against your enemies; peace; assistance; personal representation; the breaking of all weapons formed against you; power over all the power of the enemy; and most importantly, a sound mind. So if you’re caught in the crossfire of the devil, you know that you have the upper hand over your enemies and over your situation; which allows you to stay the course to your own story. Not only that, the knowledge of the finished works also helps you to secure the blessings He has promised because you’re walking in according to His purpose, which is ultimately the fulfillment of the finished works of Christ in YOU! Man this is good!

If you know this, then you have the assurance that this attack (distraction, weapon, arrow) being formed against you has no authority, so you are able to proceed in honor before others because you have His promises to be faithful to you. When we really understand who we are in this earth and what we shared with the Father before we were sent here, then we will be able to complete that story because we will have truly partnered with God to tell it.

Have you partnered with God to write your story? If not, now is the time to ask Him to help you do that; now is the time to get into agreement with the story you and He designed before the foundation of the world.

Just like Jesus, each one of us had a story we defined with God before He ever released us into this world and just like Jesus, you and I have a say in how that story is written. Wouldn’t you like to be on the same page as your Heavenly Father? Wouldn’t you like to make sure you’re not missing one chapter, one paragraph or even one verse you and He determined you would write when you agreed to manifest the contents of that Book on the earth?

We trust that you are asking Him right now to position you to walk in the story that was meant just for you; the one you and He decided together before the foundation of the world. We know once you partner with Him to walk-out your story in the here and now, you will receive an avalanche of knowledge and revelation about the many challenges and victories you have already encountered and you’ll be better equipped to address the challenges that will come in the future.

Saints, we here at What You Will™ are praying for you to partner with God to finish that story so your Book in Heaven will be an amazing read!

The Preaching of Conviction versus the Demonstration of Encounter

There are many ways to go about snatching the souls of men from the pit of hell; but for this ministry, we have found that the message of grace combined with the demonstration of Holy Ghost power in love, is the most effective way to entice a sinner to examine himself and then seek the Redeemer for deliverance from sin. It is a personal divine encounter with the True and Living God that ultimately draws men and women to repentance. Without the conviction of sin, there is no need to turn away from the mindsets of the world and without a turning away, there is no repentance.

Unfortunately, people hear messages of doom and gloom from the pulpit and even well-meaning members in the body of Christ; and therefore, the lost don’t see the value in serving God. Instead, they hear that they are sinful, unworthy and never able to measure up to the goodness of God because they are filthy wretches. They reject that messaging from the heart and the interest in knowing God and serving God is quenched. Conversion is not a head matter, it’s a heart matter.

At What You Will™, we have learned that people are more apt to have a real conversion when they have a real encounter with the Living God. It is next to impossible to deny the experience of a divine powerful encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. This writer met the power of God at the age of 19 when an intercessor who stood in the office of a prophet laid hands on me in prayer and began to ‘loose’ the power of God to touch me and boy did it ever. The power of God was so strong upon me I was shaking. I did my best to control my physical body as the power of God moved to my knees. I could barley manage to stand under the force of power overcoming my body; but because I was so self-conscious and didn’t understand at the time what was really taking place during that encounter, I did what I could to stay on my feet and not collapse to the floor. I had an encounter that night and the woman who had prayed for me never pointed out my sin; instead, she let the manifest power of God do the talking for her.

Very few Christian’s pray for the lost to have a divine encounter with God. Religion teaches most to pray for others to be convicted of their sin when that’s really not what draws people to repentance. The Word says it is the good things of (or the goodness of God) that leads people to repentance (Romans 2:4). As for the issue of conviction as it pertains to one knowing right from wrong (feeling conviction), the Bible says that He has already placed within man the knowledge of good versus evil (I am giving out revelation here; think the Book of Genesis) and that men do indeed know the difference between the two. God has also stated in His Word that His goodness is clearly manifested in the way He formed and cared for the earth at the creation; and even now, His goodness is still expressed in all He provides to us with the former and the latter rain, seed time and harvest, and the rising of the sun every day, as examples. The Bible also states that God rains on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45). There are many other things we can point to and praise Him for of course; but the point is, the evidence of God is clearly seen in creation; therefore, men are without excuse if they do not repent (Romans 1:20) and conviction is a given after a divine encounter.

That leads me back to the prayer for conviction verses the prayer for encounter. We win more souls by demonstrating the goodness of God (with actual manifestations of Holy Ghost power that provide an opportunity for encounter) over preaching the traditional doctrine of repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins. One message points to man’s failures; which is a message of condemnation. The other message points to the goodness of God; which is the foundation of grace. And it is by GRACE through faith that men and women are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9).

No one can just say a simple prayer and be saved because faith without works…turning away from Death unto Life…is dead (James 2:26). Without a real conversion manifested from a powerful encounter with the True and Living God, there is no salvation; only empty words from a prayer repeated by a sinner as lead by a preacher, a teacher, a pastor or a layman in the Body of Christ. A repetitive prayer spoken under the duress of condemnation holds very little if any weight. It is only after a divine encounter with God that real repentance takes place; and with that, real conviction. Then there will be a turning away from the wickedness of the world that gripped the sinner before He knew he had access to grace, and the Redeemer Who provides it.

Dear children, demonstrate encounter.

The Powerful Purpose in Suffering

In every situation, we will only subdue for others the things which we ourselves have overcome.

Trials are meant to do more than just remove the dross from our souls; they actually become the earmarks of specific situations we will subdue for others in the realm of the spirit.

On the road to Damascus, Paul lost his sight for a season. He surrenders to Jesus and finds redemption. While on the road to Cypress (Acts 9:9), Paul speaks to Elymas the sorcerer, who was attempting to pervert the faith. Filled with the Holy Spirit, Paul commands that the sorcerer will lose his sight for a season and that is exactly what happened (Acts 13:9).

Jesus could have never become the perfect High Priest had He not walked in our circumstances. In order to be a high priest that could identify with our condition, He allowed Himself to become familiar with our very struggles and limitations then overcame them through death on the cross (Hebrews 2:17-18). It was after He pushed through the suffering He was able to overcome suffering for us.

There is always a higher purpose in suffering. Once we push through the difficulty not only will we acquire deliverance, but we will be ordained to push back the darkness impeding others.
